CourtTrax Introduces "Fast Trax" Search Enhancement

CourtTrax is proud to announce "Fast Trax," our latest searching enhancement!

Now when you enter your name or case number search criteria and click "Search," CourtTrax will immediately start running your search in the "background," allowing you to enter your next search without waiting for the form to refresh. You do not have to wait for the first search to complete before you can start a new one!

In addition, once you have initiated a search your search information will appear as a "search in process" in your saved search area. This will allow you to monitor the status of each search as soon as you launch it. A gray box in the Status column indicates that your search is in process. A green box with a check mark will appear once your search results are complete. To review your search results simply click on the link. No more waiting and wondering. Now you can track each search from beginning to end!

For our Legacy Users, the ability to search multiple case numbers within the same County in Washington Superior and Oregon Circuit/District courts is still available! Simply enter as many case numbers as you would like separated by a comma in the case number search entry box and click "Search." It's that easy!

We have also added better keyboarding capability: you can more easily tab-through the search entry form, and then use the enter key to launch a search.

Clients who have used Fast Trax have told us they are getting their work done much faster than ever before!

These additions extend our value as an aggregator of court records, while providing the same level of best-in-class results that you've come to expect from CourtTrax.

Product enhancements such as these are a result of your input and suggestions. If you have an idea for an enhancement or feature that would improve your CourtTrax search experience, let us know! Email us at info@courttrax.com, or give us a call at 866-643-7084.

Pre-SCOMIS Case Information Now Available Online for Washington State!

Prior to the implementation of the statewide Superior court online management information system (SCOMIS) each Washington State County numbered their cases sequentially. The case type code has been prepended to each sequence number (by the court) so you can determine the case type by the number. Until now, those cases were not available through CourtTrax. With this announcement, you may now click those odd-looking case numbers like 1-304 or 2-d12345 and retrieve the electronic record.

Most have been archived, but many have not - especially in the smaller Counties. Even if a listing of documents isn't available, we can manually retrieve documents in most cases. Just click the 'Order Manual Documents' tab at the bottom of the case report, and enter what you need (Complaint, charging documents, sentence, judgment etc) in the 'Documents Requested (or additional information)' box.

Enhanced Case Detail Reports Are Now Live!

CourtTrax is proud to unveil our new Case Detail Results ("CDR") format and printed reports. Effective with this announcement, case detail results and reports for Washington State Courts will reflect this enhanced format. The new format provides an array of advantages to our users:

  1. A cleaner presentation of case data
    • Redundancies of certain data points that appeared in the previous CDRs have been reduced or, in some cases, eliminated.
    • Report sections which contain lists of Names or Charges have been more clearly marked in defined tables
    • Report sections have been reorganized to show Archive details below the Summary; pairing Party Names with Attorneys; Charges and Sentences placed above the Docket; with the Docket appearing as the final section presented
    • All dates now appear in green, and hyperlinks in blue, to more clearly distinguish between them visually.
  2. Docket & Documents are contained in a 3 tabbed section for easy viewing and printing
    • The Docket and Documents section now has up to three tabs: "Docket," "Download Electronic Documents" (when available) and "Order Manual Documents."
    • When printing a report, whichever tab is in front (active) will be the only one printed
    • The "Docket" tab is active by default when a CDR is initially retrieved. This is another sticky feature. Whichever tab was selected last will be the one displayed the next time the CDR is opened
  3. More descriptive page titles
    • At the very top of the web page, in the tab that previously said "CaseNumber Search Report nonJIS," you will now see "Case Detail for Case #09-3-03496-5 - WA - Pierce County Superior Court" making it much easier to navigate through multiple pages.
  4. Case Detail sections may be hidden or unhidden from the "Jump To" section
    • Located just under the header information, you'll see "Jump To" which lists the case detail sections available for the case being viewed. Each section can now be hidden for both the results (on screen) and the report (printed or converted into a PDF) by clicking the minus sign next to each section name; clicking the plus sign will then un-hide that section
    • This function is "sticky," meaning that if you choose to hide both the "Attorneys" and "Schedule" sections of a CDR, those sections will remain hidden in any subsequent CDR. This provides you with the flexibility to select only those portions of CDRs most relevant to your work, and can dramatically cut-down the length of some CDRs
  5. "Back to top" links allow for easy navigation within a report
    • At the bottom right corner of each section is a "back to top" symbol. No more scrolling up! Click the link and you'll be taken to the Summary section of the CDR

We will be releasing enhanced CDRs for Oregon and California over the next few months.

The enhancements to our CDR come as a direct result of suggestions and feedback from our clients. If you have an idea about how we can make CourtTrax better, contact us at info@courttrax.com today!

Los Angeles County Electronic Documents Available

CourtTrax is pleased to announce the addition of electronic document retrieval to our suite of services for the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Now, when you retrieve case details for a case filed in the Stanley Moss Courthouse, those documents made available electronically by the court can be purchased and downloaded to your computer via CourtTrax.

Coverage
Currently, only the Stanley Moss courthouse provides electronic copies of their case documents to the public. As additional Los Angeles County courthouses make documents available online, CourtTrax will have immediate access to them.

Advantages
The Los Angeles County host system has a rather unruly series of screens and login procedures that are required before you can both conduct a name search, and download documents. Each document purchase requires a re-entry of your full credit card and password information. This can quickly become a tedious and time-consuming effort when conducting multiple searches and multiple document downloads CourtTrax does all of the logging-in and site navigation for you in the background, allowing you to conduct searches and purchase documents with a single click, while the total cost is billed to you at the end of the month.

Pricing
As with all CourtTrax products, there are no subscription or set-up fees; you are charged on a per-search basis only. Pricing information for Los Angeles County is available on our website, or by contacting our sales team.

Predict the Outcome of Cases with FutureTrax! (April Fool's!)

(Note: This "announcement" was posted on April 1st. Since April Fool's Day pranks are becoming something of a tradition on-line, we just couldn't resist posting one of our own. We hope you enjoyed our joke for this year -- and we hope you're not too disappointed that FutureTrax doesn't exist!

Other tech-industry April Fool's Day jokes we enjoyed this year included: Toshiba Spectacle 3D, Gmail Motion, the Starbucks Mobile Pour App, and of course, Groupon's patent application for April Fool's Day itself.)
_________

CourtTrax has always brought you the tools to keep track of court cases in real time, getting updates as they happen -- but in today's fast moving legal world, that's not always enough. Court cases can drag on for months at a time, costing both sides a fortune in lost time and legal fees.

Now there's a solution! With our new feature, FutureTrax™, you can determine the most likely outcome of any case!

Our extensive database of the history of court rulings and criminal records allows us to input a judge, the plaintiffs, and the charges filed for any case, and receive a statistically certain look at the outcome well ahead of time -- with an astonishing 98% accuracy rate! Predict guilty/not guilty outcomes, length of jail terms (with an error rate of plus or minus two weeks), and dollar amount of damages awarded. You can determine if your client should ask for a settlement now instead of facing fines or a jail sentence!

How does it work? Through these three simple steps:

  • Enter a case number
  • The FutureTrax™ system combines all parameters of the case into an n-dimensional metasyntactic probability matrix, with Bayesian filtering applied across a broad range of deterministic variables, and applies it to a self-correcting, multiply-redunant heuristic algorithm on a distributed neural network, and feeds the output through a series of post-processing output vector filters
  • Get result

It's just that easy!

The new feature has not been enabled for all clients yet, but we're rolling it out across our network now. As soon as your account has been upgraded to use the new feature, all Case Detail Reports will now have a "Likely Outcome" section underneath the existing "Docket" section.

Try it today! New feature available April 1st, 2011!
